What is this?

VortexMobs is an adaptive combat AI system for hostile mobs. It runs silently on your server, learns how your players fight, and over time starts shaping mob behavior to counter the habits your community relies on most.

There is no difficulty slider. No custom mob replacement. No configuration required to get started. Just install it and let it run.


Why does this exist?

Every active server eventually develops a meta. Players figure out the safest way to win fights — bows, kiting, shielding, height abuse, burst damage — and once they do, hostile mobs stop feeling threatening. Combat becomes a solved problem.

VortexMobs solves that by making the AI a moving target.

The server brain watches how encounters end. It tracks what kills mobs most efficiently. And the more a particular tactic dominates your server's meta, the more mob behavior starts shifting to apply pressure against it.

• Bow spam dominating? Mobs become faster and more aggressive at closing distance.
• Players stacking on high ground? Encounters get more punishing for height abuse.
• Shield turtling? Mobs push harder against defensive play.
• Burst focus-fire melting everything? Encounters build more sustained resistance.
