KidPets Free Beta 0.1.0
KidPets is a family-friendly pets plugin for Spigot/Paper servers.
Players can choose cute companion pets, level them up, use simple abilities, unlock passive survival helpers, and store items inside each pet’s personal chest.

This free beta version currently includes three pets:

• Axolotl — healing and support pet
  
  
• Sniffer — food and survival helper pet
  
  
• Bat — mining and cave exploration helper pet
  

Each pet has its own level, XP, status, storage, active ability, passive behavior, and progression.

Paper is recommended, but Spigot 1.21.4 was tested.

Free Edition Notice
This is the free beta edition of KidPets.

The free version includes the base pet system, three pets, levels, pet storage, active abilities, passive abilities, status, and configuration menus.

Premium features such as Super Powers, educational challenges, and future exclusive pets may be added later in a separate premium edition.

Documentation
Installation

1. Download the KidPets .jar.
   
   
2. Place it inside your server’s plugins folder.
   
   
3. Restart the server.
   
   
4. Use /kidpets item to receive the Pet Star.
   
   
5. Right-click the Pet Star to open the pet menu.
   

First Use
Players can use the Pet Star to choose a pet.
After choosing a pet, the menu allows players to:

• make the pet follow
  
  
• call the pet
  
  
• stop the pet
  
  
• store the pet
  
  
• open the pet chest
  
  
• rename the pet
  
  
• use the pet’s active ability
  
  
• view configuration information
  

Pet Storage
Each pet has its own storage chest.

Storage size increases with level:

Level 1-4: 9 slots
Level 5-9: 18 slots
Level 10: 27 slots

Current Pets
Axolotl

A support pet focused on healing.

• Active ability: healing pulse
  
  
• Passive: gentle healing support
  
  
• Emergency: helps when the owner has low health
  

Sniffer

A survival pet focused on food.

• Active ability: finds random food
  
  
• Passive: helps collect extra food
  
  
• Emergency: helps when the owner has low hunger
  

Bat

A mining pet focused on caves and ores.

• Active ability: finds minerals
  
  
• Passive: helps collect extra mining resources
  

Configuration
KidPets creates configuration files inside:

plugins/KidPets/

Main files:

You can edit cooldowns, chances, pet storage sizes, XP, status behavior, and messages.

Use:

/kidpets reload

to reload configuration and messages.

Some task interval changes may require a full server restart.
