Bring true environmental survival to Minecraft.
RealisticClimate transforms the Minecraft world into a dynamic survival experience where weather, temperature, biome conditions, exposure, and environmental hazards directly affect players.
No resource packs.
No mods.
No client-side installations.
Just a lightweight Paper/Spigot plugin that adds realistic climate mechanics while keeping the vanilla feeling intact.
❄️ Dynamic Temperature System
Every biome has its own environmental temperature.
Examples:
- Hot deserts during the day
- Freezing snowy biomes
- Cooler nights
- Temperate forests and plains
The environment constantly influences the player's body temperature.
️ Body Temperature Simulation
Players no longer exist in a perfectly stable state.
Body temperature reacts to:
- Biome temperature
- Day and night cycles
- Direct sunlight
- Shade and shelter
- Water exposure
- Rain
- Armor type
- Weather events
The longer a player remains exposed, the greater the consequences.
Armor Affects Temperature
Different armor types provide different thermal properties.
Examples:
- Leather helps regulate temperature
- Iron retains more heat
- Netherite becomes dangerous in hot environments
Players must adapt their equipment to the climate.
Wetness System
Getting wet has lasting consequences.
Players accumulate moisture when:
- Swimming
- Falling into water
- Being exposed to rain
Wetness gradually dries over time and affects environmental temperature calculations.
☀️ Sun & Shelter Mechanics
Being outdoors under direct sunlight is very different from standing inside a cave or building.
The system detects:
- Open sky exposure
- Underground shelter
- Covered areas
This creates meaningful environmental choices.
️ Dynamic Weather Events
Sandstorms
Only affect players who are:
- In desert-type biomes
- Exposed to the sky
- Not underwater
Effects include:
- Reduced visibility
- Increased heat exposure
Snowstorms
Only affect players who are:
- In snowy biomes
- Exposed to the sky
Effects include:
- Increased cold exposure
- Movement penalties
⚠️ Progressive Exposure System
Effects are not instant.
Players gradually accumulate:
- Heat exposure
- Cold exposure
As exposure increases, warnings appear before consequences begin.
This creates a more natural and immersive survival experience.
Temperature States
Players can experience:
- Normal
- Hot
- Heatstroke
- Cold
- Hypothermia
Each state has its own progression and gameplay impact.
Multi-Language Support
Language files included:
Create your own translations easily.
⚙️ Fully Configurable
Most climate values can be adjusted through configuration files:
- Biome temperatures
- Day/night temperatures
- Exposure thresholds
- Weather behavior
- Future expansion settings
No recompilation required.
️ Administration
Administrative commands:
/climate set normal
/climate set sand
/climate set snow
/climate info
/climate reload
