It's a great plugin, it's very good that there are plug-ins on the market that don't require money from you and allow you to get excellent functionality. The wiki is quite clear. I also really liked that such good plugins as CraftEngene and Citizens2 are supported. Thank you for the excellent plugin dear developer
What a terrible plugin. NOTHING works better than ModelEngine, and even this plugin, which seems to be trying to compete, offers absolutely no support.
My goal is technical improvement, not market share. There is absolutely no merit for me in trying to cater to users who won't even read a wiki and have zero respect for free, open-source contributions
Version: 2.1.0
It's a good start, but the author is fundamentally wrong. You shouldn't convert your server to this plugin instead of MEG for the following reasons:
1. The author is doing this for free, as a hobby. They might stop supporting and updating the plugins tomorrow at their own request, leaving you with this stub that you'll have to finish writing and updating yourself.
2. Too many words, not enough concrete comparisons and metrics. If optimization is important to me, I need load tests from the author. Otherwise, there's no point in promoting your plugin by disparaging another one.
3. As I understand from the reviews, the author's Discord support and documentation are poor. So what's the point of wasting so much time?
4. Those familiar with MEG most likely already have an active game server with many models. There should be a migration from MEG to BetterModels; otherwise, why waste your time on something that will be abandoned tomorrow?
The project's scale and commit history already prove it's not getting abandoned anytime soon. But let's talk about abandonment: if I leave, you can fork this. If your closed-source dev leaves, you get a useless brick. Isn't it ironic to blindly trust someone with a literal track record of abandoning MEG 3 just to sell you MEG 4?
Version: 2.0.1
The best plug-in on the model. Simplicity and convenience. It's also free, respect to the developer.
The bad reviews are ridiculous and stupid. This is a free, open source plugin that already competes with (imo beats) the paid option Model Engine and people are whining because they couldn’t spend five minutes reading the wiki?(prob some random 13 year old running a server on their laptop/aternos)
The developer is making this in their free time and giving it away for free. If something doesn’t instantly work, maybe try using your brain, read the documentation, and experiment a little instead of leaving a bad review.
I’ve always wanted proper emotes on my server, and this plugin absolutely delivers. The player animation feature is awesome, and the api is clean. I was able to create my own emote wheel plugin on top of it.
Here to spread positivity. What this author is doing is awesome. He gave us more value than Mythic team with their ModelEngine ever did. Thank you for keeping this open source and continuing to work on it. We truly appreciate you and your work <3
This plugin is incredibly useful these days, and the fact that it's free is a huge plus. Support can be a bit slow, but as mentioned, the plugin is a hobby project, and that's greatly appreciated. Thank you for creating this plugin for the community.
This user was banned for being excessively aggressive in the chat. Unfortunately, even months later, he still doesn't seem to realize what he did wrong. Let’s take a moment of silence for him.
Version: 1.14.2
It's a good alternative to MEG, but unfortunately you don't get any support on Discord, messages remain unanswered, and the API is not sufficiently documented (or doesn't even work properly).
It's a shame, really, because the plugin has a lot of potential.
This project is free and open source.
I work on it purely as a hobby, and I have neither the budget to hire support staff nor unlimited time to invest.
If you need help related to development, please follow the provided template and open a GitHub issue. That is the proper and sustainable way to report problems or request assistance.
I find it unfortunate — and frankly a shame — when people fail to respect the nature of an open-source project and instead choose to do nothing but complain. That kind of attitude only harms the open-source ecosystem as a whole.
Version: 1.11.2
It's the best model plugin I've ever tried! It works perfectly, it's very simple, and the best thing for me is that it's compatible with MythicMobs. The only thing I could point out is that in my model with effects (sound effects), it doesn't load or read properly with the generated resource pack. It's probably because I still don't know how to properly work sounds in animations.
Hola, el plugin es perfecto en temas de rendimiento y modelos 3D, pero mi duda es si tiene la posibilidad de crear monturas específicas dentro del modelo creado? por ejemplo para dar la posibilidad de crear vehículos
Hi, this plugin is perfect in perfomance and models, but my question is if exists the posibility in create customisable mounts inside of the create model? to get the possibility to create vehicles? (my english is very bad and here there is an example)
Frankly man it's too good that there is an alternative to model engine there is no documentation no video it's horrible they rested too much on their assets I hope there will be s OBB in this plugin with a good documentation in any case it promises
Just terrible! The plugin literally barely works! When you re-enter the server, the armor racks become visible again until they are updated! And sometimes they don’t show the model at all... In meg, of course, there were no such problems! And the saddest thing is that the developer doesn’t care at all, he responds once a year. I don't recommend it if you can use meg...
Hey,
I will test this plugin later...
But first I want to write something here: Thank you! I had planned to make my own Modelengine plugin because I don't have the money for the premium version of the Model engine! So hats off as the Germans say, and thank you in advance!
