Earn passive income for your Minecraft server — without disrupting
gameplay
amethystADS lets server owners earn revenue by placing optional banner ads as in-world item-frame maps.
Players can glance at them or ignore them — there are no chat messages, no GUIs, no popups, and no
forced interaction. If a player chooses to interact, the server earns a verified click credit.
Key features
•
Zero gameplay disruption — ads are 2×2 item-frame maps you place yourself (e.g. at spawn or in
a hub lobby). No chat spam, no UI overlays, no forced engagement.
•
You stay in control — you decide where ads go and how many. Remove the placement, remove the
ad. You can also hide every ad on your server with a single command at any time.
•
Lightweight — async polling, batched impression reporting, image cache scoped to ads currently
in rotation.
•
Signed events — clicks and impressions are HMAC-signed and verified server-side. Click-fraud
detection runs in the cloud, not on your server.
•
Auto-updates — the plugin checks GitHub on startup and every 30 minutes, and stages new
releases into
plugins/update/ for you. Restart to apply.
•
Simple setup — drop the jar in
plugins/, run
/aa register, paste
the token into
amethystads.com to link your server. Done.
•
Earnings dashboard — sign in with Google at
amethystads.com to view
impressions, clicks, and credits in real time.
Requirements

How it works
- Install the jar and start your server.
- Run /aa register in-game and click the chat link to copy your registration token.
- Sign in at amethystads.com with Google and paste the token to link the
server to your account.
- Run /aa give to receive the placement tool (a blaze rod), then place 2×2 item-frame
banners wherever you want ads to appear.
- The plugin fetches the current ad rotation from the API and renders it on the maps. When a player
interacts with an ad, a signed event is sent to the API, verified, and credited to your account.
Commands
Run
/aa help in-game for the full, always-up-to-date list of commands and what they do.
All commands require the
amethystads.admin permission (granted to ops by default).
/aa is an alias for
/amethystads.
Closed beta
The plugin is currently in closed beta. I'm working directly with a small number of servers to
refine the system.
