Hello!
It took a while to prepare a new update for you, but now it’s absolutely done.
There are no configuration and security changes in 6.8-IRONCLAD.
We’ve connected a new Cloud system to the BotShield. It’s the first update of it since 3.2. We’ve completely changed the way of receiving and storing information on servers, and now it’s not possible to fetch any information from them without a tool that only BotShield has.
And as always, we have good news for 26.1+ Minecraft server owners.
The 26.1+ support has been tested by our team and is now completely supported (every BotShield version should correctly work on them, but we recommend always using the latest).
As for previous versions, the
public copy of Cloud signatures has been decreased, and now previous BotShield versions won’t receive the whole data.
To get the latest threat intelligence, please update to the 6.8 version, it will use a new system to get them from our end.
In general, the support of the previous Cloud system backend is discontinued. Old BotShield versions will receive 10% of signature data out of 100%.
Additional improvements:
- Updated log messages related to the BotShield backend servers;
- Added maintenance mode for Cloud threat intelligence. It’s used only in special cases, like changing the whole signature structure. If it’s enabled, BotShield won’t be able to load the data from them;
- Added version support checker. If a critical bug or something that needs to be updated as soon as possible is found in BotShield, we will be able to disable this version.
We recommend updating to the latest version as soon as possible because previous BotShield versions won’t receive new Cloud updates.
Thank you for your continued support, be with us, and stay protected with our solution.
